I've always liked Crombies......... yes............ it's FULL of pensioners but everyone is friendly if you chat to them, as are the waitresses.
It gets very crowded at lunchtime so either visit at 11.45-12.00 or after 1.30 when you should get a seat.
Mainly homemade, school canteen type meals - corned beef pie, fish & chips, spotted dick, apple pie. Very cheap - can often get a 2 course meal for £3-5. Comfort food at it's best.

No frills and low budget local restaurant what has been on the go for many years.
Mainly used by pensioners for morning coffee, lunch and tea time.
There's nothing expensive on the menu and everything falls under the frozen food or home made category
I suppose the food is ok for the price charged but seems to lack a personal touch. Ideal if working in area and on a low digs budget.

As always, and I forgot - the place seems to be lacking in staff ... waited AGES for our order, even a glass of orange was forgotten - so I went up to the 'bar' and ordered it again. There seems to be only one or two waitresses operating , and when finally the meal came , a meat 'pudding', it seemed it had spent too long in the Micro wave,we had to share a meagre dish of veg' ... ordered a 'pudding' , that too took a LONG time coming . Skipped asking for a coffee, as our parking time of two hours was half used up, and we had shopping to attend to ... another table got up and left 'en masse' , as they had a bus to catch. NEVER again !
